Intergenerational Program
Intergenerational Program
At Bayswater Childcare and Kinder, we are proud to offer our Intergenerational Program, a special initiative designed to foster meaningful connections between children and elderly members of our community. This program provides our four-year-old kindergarten children with the unique opportunity to regularly engage with senior residents, creating an environment where learning, empathy, and joy are shared across generations.
Through activities such as singing, gardening, storytelling, games, and arts and crafts, children and elderly residents develop strong bonds that enrich their emotional and social well-being. These interactions help children build essential skills in empathy, patience, and communication, while also providing them with a deeper understanding of different life stages.
For the elderly residents, the program brings warmth, energy, and a renewed sense of purpose. Regular interactions with children can help improve mental health, reduce loneliness, and create moments of happiness through shared experiences.
At Bayswater Childcare and Kinder, we believe that building intergenerational relationships strengthens our local community, reinforces values of respect and care, and fosters a sense of belonging for both young and old. Through this program, we create opportunities for meaningful connections that leave a lasting impact on all involved.
